Big Changes Coming to Springdale's Ball Park District

On Dec. 5, Springdale's Planning Commission announced plans to build two multifamily housing projects, and two major medical facilities have opened in the district. -Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette

  • After Arvest Ballpark was built in 2008, the area was left generally undeveloped. Today, office buildings for Arkansas Children's Northwest are under construction, along with an office park for Highlands Oncology Group and a multistory office for Blue Cross Blue Shield.
  • Marshall Saviers with Sage Partners said this is the time for the district to shine. "This district has cemented itself as the medical hub of Northwest Arkansas." -Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Philip Taldo, a local developer, is planning a high-density, multifamily community for the district, comprised of 700 units.
  • To date, the city has spent almost $100 million on infrastructure in the district, said Perry Webb, retired President of the Springdale Chamber of Commerce.
