The Missouri Prairie Foundation has awarded Compton Gardens and Arboretum with a Grow Native! Native Gardens of Excellence Award. 

• Natural State: Compton Gardens is the first garden in the state to receive the Grow Native! award which is given to public gardens that have been maintained for over 3 years and consist of at least 90% native plants.
