Construction has officially begun on the J.B. and Johnelle Hunt Family Children’s Safety Center of Washington County (CSC). 

• More space for care: It will be a 15,200-square-foot facility, three times larger than the current CSC, enabling more room for comfort in the space and seeing more children. Construction is scheduled to take one year, then 15 employees at the current CSC will relocate to the new spot in Springdale. The hope is to open in September 2023. 
• What they do: CSC is a child-friendly, family-centered organization that assists in children’s abuse cases by coordinating the investigation and prosecution process and providing treatment services to prevent further trauma. Among many features of the new center, it will include the region’s first specialized therapeutic playground.
