Fayetteville Leads Arkansas In Clean Energy Goals

NWA Daily

Did you know Fayetteville is leading the state in committing to clean energy goals?

  • Clean city: Through city-wide and community-led programs and projects, Fayetteville has made plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and is the first city in Arkansas to commit to 100% clean energy. In 2017, the city laid out an Energy Action Plan to encourage continued efforts in the Climate and Energy sector.
  • Wise moves: In addition to reducing greenhouse gases, the plan outlines ways the city can increase energy efficiency, too. The plan includes reducing housing and transportation costs to 45% of area median income, a 40% tree canopy coverage, a 25% bike/walk/transit mode, a 40% total waste diversion from the landfill, and so much more.
