Fayetteville Police Department Partners with U of A to Create Internship Program

The Fayetteville Police Department has announced it is partnering with the University of Arkansas School of Social Work to provide an internship for students in the masters program.

  • The goal of this partnership is to reduce the criminalization of people who suffer from substance abuse, homelessness and mental health issues. -5 News
  • Additionally, FPD will be able to identify crime victims and provide resources for counseling and recovery.
  • The FPD is hoping to establish a relationship with the community and looking to collect data on how effective the program is.
  • The U of A School of Social Work prides itself on its goal of working with vulnerable people and creating social change.
