May Sales Tax Revenue Up 8.9% In Northwest Arkansas

Northwest Arkansas saw an 8.89% increase in sales tax revenue for May 2023 compared to May 2022, for a combined revenue of $9.664m. Year-to-date totals have climbed to $45.612m, up 11.31% from the same period last year.

  • May flowers: Bentonville led the pack for May gains, posting a 20.48% gain in sales tax revenue at nearly $2.54m. Rogers reported the second-highest gains, bringing in $2.234m, up 7.5% from last year.
  • Bigger picture: Fayetteville experienced a 7.37% increase in growth and brought in $2.692m during the month of May. Springdale had a fairly flat month, growing just .14% over a year ago, but this year, it earned a sales tax revenue of $9.669m, up 8.21% from a year ago.
