The Union Cycliste Internationale recently announced a new Gravel World Series in which Fayetteville will represent the US yet again. 

• World race: The series will start in April in the Philippines, travel to Australia, France, and Poland, then land in Fayetteville on Saturday, June 25. The event in Fayetteville will be called the Highlands Gravel Classic and include two courses. 
• Ride of champions: The courses in Fayetteville will feature 95% gravel roads, the longer of the two serving as a World Championships qualifier for younger riders. The shorter course will be a World Championships qualifier for the older age categories.
