Through new partnerships, Northwest Arkansas Food Systems is expanding support for local farmers and communities.
- Growth through resources: The expansion involves $730,000 in grants going toward the Arkansas Department of Agriculture, Community Clinic, and the University of Arkansas so they can “offer farmers new resources to access capital and soil health programs, and improve access to healthy food in under-resourced communities.”
- The program: The Northwest Arkansas Food Systems focuses on bolstering small and mid-size farmers to grow fresh produce for the community. The program connects farmers to educational opportunities, land, technical assistance, capital, and new markets.
