Northwest Arkansas Organizations Fighting To End Hunger

Northwest Arkansas Food Bank

It is estimated that one in eight neighbors in Northwest Arkansas faces hunger and food insecurity, sparking the work of multiple organizations in the region to address this problem of hunger.

  • Take it to the bank: The Northwest Arkansas Food Bank has made a significant impact on the community – distributing 14m pounds of food in 2021 – and is always seeking volunteers to serve in their warehouse, community garden, and mobile pantries around the area.
  • From the source: Also combating food insecurity in the area is Lifesource International in Fayetteville, which opens its food pantry to the public Mon, Wed, and Thur from 8:30-11:30a and Mon and Thur from 6-7p. Lifesource also provides programs for adult education, clothing, and after-school care.
