NWA Daily

The Northwest Arkansas Land Trust, a Fayetteville non-profit, has acquired 830 acres of the historic Lake Frances property near Siloam Springs, and will manage the property for wildlife habitat, water quality, and future public access.

  • Preservation: Protecting this property will ensure the conservation of the largest contiguous pine/oak woodlands in NWA as well as protect over 7mi of streams which will ensure the water quality of the Illinois River.
  • Public access: Eventually, the property will provide public access, giving NWA residents yet another outdoor destination for their enjoyment including hiking trails, natural surface multi-use trails, and hard surface multi-use trails connecting Oklahoma Highway 59 north of the WOKA Whitewater Park to Arkansas Highway 59.
