NWACC Cycling and Technician Education Center to Open This Fall

NWA Daily (Greenway Trail, Northwest Arkansas)

Last year, Bicycle Industry Employees Association (BIEA) announced its intentions to open its second cycling technician school in Bentonville in partnership with NWACC.

  • NWACC's Cycling and Technician Education Center (C-TEC) is scheduled to be up for approval with the ADHE later this month, and if all goes well will open this fall in 2021.

  • The Center will offer "a learning and lab space for the college's BIEA accredited programs. Plans for the Center include space for changing and hygiene stations for those cycling to campus, a skills course or single track on which to test out bicycles, and a bicycle repair station for cyclists using the [Missouri] trailhead."

  • Bike supply 'chain': We heard a great segment on the current bicycle supply chain (no pun intended) yesterday on NPR's Morning Report. You can check it out here, but in summary demand is high and supply is struggling to keep up.

You can check out the story on NWACC's website as well as renderings of what the Center might look like.
