Starting tomorrow, Feb. 22, public transit with Ozark Regional Transit Authority (ORT) will establish an on-demand service in Bentonville and Fayetteville.
- Free and easy: Described as the Uber of public transit, ORT has developed an on-demand transit model where passengers can schedule rides using the smartphone app ORT On Demand. The app allows riders to move a cursor to a preferred pick-up destination and see a live arrival time for their ORT vehicle.
- Changes: Tomorrow in Bentonville, all traditional fixed routes will transition to on-demand. In Fayetteville, the new service will eliminate 1 traditional fixed route, and 2 will continue to operate alongside on-demand transit. The 3 fixed routes in Springdale will go unchanged.
