Passenger Numbers Are Up At XNA

NWA Daily

Travel numbers are looking good at the Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA), though still waning below the record-breaking days of 2019.

  • Looking good: With the gradual lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, the numbers at XNA are slowly rising. Last month, 83,224 passengers departed XNA, the airport’s highest number of boardings since October 2019.
  • To consider: Flights have been packed in recent weeks, giving officials hope of reaching the 91,000 passenger figure from June and July 2019. Staffing issues and airlines grounding planes have resulted in trimmed schedules, so there are about 500 fewer seats available a day than in 2019. We’ll see if travel demand will outweigh the negative staffing issue effects.
