When Justin Macedo started a consulting project for Uncle Sam's Safari Outfitters as part of an assignment in his small business class, he never imagined he'd soon become the owner of one of Fayetteville's oldest outdoor gear and clothing stores.
- Opportunity: Macedo worked for the store's previous owner, Ryland Arnold, and while completing his entrepreneurship project, he learned Arnold was actually interested in selling the business. So he jumped at the opportunity.
- Iconic: Uncle Sam's was first opened in 1982 by Robert Ginsburg in a backroom off Dickson St and later relocated to Evelyn Hills Shopping Center in 1985.
