Report Shows NWA Recycled 41,000+ Tons Of Material Last Year

According to the latest recycling report from the Northwest Arkansas Council, NWA recycled more than 41,000 tons of material in 2021. 

  • Collections: The NWA Recycles report was the first to tally collections from the Benton County and Boston Mountain solid waste districts and a dozen other cities with public recycling programs. The recycling collections included typical materials like aluminum cans and cardboard as well as more unusual items like tires, electronics, and yard waste. 
  • Materials: Among the report’s findings, in 2021, the region recycled 300 tons of electronic waste, 1,000 tons of aluminum, steel, and other scrap metal; 1,000 tons of glass bottles and jars, 9,000 tons of yard and food waste for composting, and 14,000 tons of cardboard and paper.
