Residential construction is trying its best to catch up to insatiable demand. Across Northwest Arkansas, building permits for single-family homes from January to April increased 40% from the same time last year.

• The stats: 638 residential housing permits were issued for NWA in the first four months of 2021, up from 456 the previous year. Combined, the value of these permits increased 44.3% overall.
• Moving fast: With more and more lots becoming available, NWA is starting to see growth like never before. Fayetteville is growing especially fast, with permits issued up 93% from the same time period last year.
