Celebrate the marvelous night sky over the Buffalo National River this weekend at the first ever Arkansas’s Dark Sky Festival, Oct 21-22 at Tyler Bend Campground.

  • Stargazing: The event will include family-friendly activities like a constellation tour, telescopic star party, celestial art class, nocturnal wildlife, light pollution awareness, nightscape photography contest, and solar-roasting marshmallows.
  • Meteor shower: Around midnight Friday, the Orionid Meteor Shower will peak, giving stargazers an incredible view of falling stars. Participants are encouraged to bring their own binoculars or telescopes, though a limited amount will be available for rent.
