Bill Kincaid, the University of Arkansas's associate general counsel, has been named acting chancellor. The role is meant to be occupied for "a few weeks" while the University finds a long term fit for the position.
- How did we get here? After over 5 years in the position, former Chancellor Steinmetz sent a letter last Thursday to campus signifying his immediate resignation effective June 18.
- In the meantime: Mr. Kincaid has worked with the University of Arkansas for more than twenty years and will be stepping in to take care of the university's operations and relations while the U of A searches for a candidate to fill the role more permanently.
