Northwest Arkansas is about to have a bigger University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) footprint after multiple approved projects. 

• Plans: An orthopedic and sports medicine center near I-49 in Springdale is a recently approved UAMS project as part of an NWA expansion. 
• Land: The most recent project approval is the acquisition of 48 acres of land in Rogers near I-49 for a UAMS operation. There are no specific plans yet, but the land will be purchased for $8m and an additional 4 acres will be gifted to the facility.
