This week, Walmart is taking a big step toward its goal to be emission-free by 2040 by putting its new compressed natural gas engine truck on the road for the first time, one of five to be incorporated into Walmart's private fleet and the first of its kind in North America.

• On the road: Outfitted with a Cummins X15N™ CNG engine fueled by Chevron with compressed natural gas, the Walmart truck will make its inaugural trip from Indiana to California, where it will be featured at the Advanced Clean Transportation Expo in Anaheim on May 1-4.
• Naturally gassy: Walmart's fleet emissions will be dramatically reduced by this move away from diesel fuel toward renewable natural gas, which is produced by capturing and processing biomethane gases released by decomposing waste.
